We believe prayer is foundational to all we do as a church and without God’s help and blessing then everything else that we do will have little significance. This is what the early church did (Acts 2:42).
Jesus’ followers didn’t ask him how to preach or serve, they asked him ‘how should we pray?’ Jesus gave them a pattern to follow (Luke 11:1-4; Matthew 6:9-13).
Jesus taught us to come in confidence in prayer because we have a Father who cares for us – “how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11)
Jesus taught the importance of persevering in prayer – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
Our weekly church prayer time is a vital part of a wider network of prayer in the church – individuals, small groups, home groups etc. We gather to give praise to the Lord, and asking for his blessing and guidance. We thank God for answered prayer and we pray for people, church work, and local, national and international items. Prayer points are sometimes suggested in advance, but generally during the evening.
We would be delighted to pray for any needs or worries you have. If you would like us to prayer about something (you don’t need to share any personal information if you don’t want to) please do let us know Contact Us.
