11.30am - 12.30pm
Tea and Coffee are served in the annexe before the service – please come and join us.
This is a more informal all-age service where we meet to worship God in song, seek God’s blessing in prayer, and listen to God’s Word preached from the Bible.
Each week we seek to gain a deeper undertanding of the Good News message of Jesus Christ in the Bible and how this impacts our lives and the world today in a way that is relevant for both Christians and non-Christians.
During the first part of the service we sing some children’s songs and sometimes have a talk or video.
At 11.50am the children leave to go to their own programme in the:
- Crèche (under 3s)
- Discovery Club Extra (age 3 - P7)
- Youth Bible Group (S1-6).
All these groups are staffed by people who have been vetted by the church’s child protection policy and are part of the PVG scheme.
11.50am - 12.30pm
During the crèche the leaders will engage the children by playing with the range of toys, reading Bible stories and singing children’s songs if appropriate. The toddlers are offered juice and a biscuit.
Discovery Club Extra (‘Sunday School’)
DCE is for children from Pre-school nursery to P7 – there are 3 teachers to cover each age group and learning stage. The leaders take the children through a programme of relevant Bible stories and teaching with the approach varying from week to week in order to keep the attention of the children - drama, crafts, quizzes, games and basic baking.
Youth Bible Group
This group is for S1-6 teenagers and follows the Scripture Union ‘Grid’ material – a Bible teaching programme designed to help young people learn about God, Jesus Christ and the Christian faith. During each session questionnaires, quizzes and games are used to illustrate the topic.
If parents wish, their children are welcome to stay with them throughout the service.
Please feel free to stay around and chat after the service – there’s no rush. If you wish, some members are available to listen and pray for you.
